- Ease of Deployment: Users of both solutions tell us their installation and deployment is simple, easy, and straightforward.
- Features: Amazon API Gateway is a logical choice for anyone using other Amazon services. It integrates seamlessly with all other Amazon products. The solution is cloud-based, which makes it very scalable. Users tell us it is very easy to use and very flexible. However, they would like to see the overall user interface improved, as there are some scenarios that can be challenging to configure.
Microsoft Azure API Management users tell us this solution is easy to configure, simple to use, and very flexible. Users especially like that the solution is a platform that has a self-enablement process for the clients and users to be able to register themselves. Users would like to see better documentation available.
Users of both solutions indicate that better third-party integration is needed.
- Pricing: Amazon API Gateway users feel the solution is competitively priced and of very good value. Microsoft Azure API Management users tell us the licensing fees can get very expensive and it is something that needs to be monitored closely to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Service and Support: Users of both solutions are satisfied with the level of service and response they receive.
Comparison Results: Both of these solutions are very solid, robust, and offer great stability and scalability. Each of these solutions is primarily only effective in its own ecosystem. Many organizations in today’s marketplace are heavily invested in Microsoft Azure products; Microsoft Azure API Management is currently more widely used. Should either of these solutions choose to offer better third-party integrations, it could change the landscape of current API management offerings.
